So, uh… you can share your Tweetbot keyword filters with other Tweetbot users
This. is. awesome.
The mute feature in Tweetbot for iPhone and iPad doesn’t stop at usernames and hashtags—you can mute actual clients. Sick of seeing auto-posted Foursquare or Instagram tweets, no matter who posts them? This one’s for you:
- Go to Tweetbot’s Mute Filters tab (on iPhone, tap-hold on the fourth tab and select the speech bubble with an (X) in it)
- Tap Edit
- Tap the (+) button that appears in the upper left
A list of what seems to be the most recent posting clients Tweetbot sees in your timeline will appear. These are other apps and services that people use to tweet, and they range from Facebook (if you set up your status messages to be auto-tweeted and linked), to Instagram, to other Twitter clients, and posting services that publishers create for their articles like dlvr.it and “Marco.org Post Management Cow” (my personal favorite so far).
Tap a client to add it to your filter list. Muted clients added this way default to being muted “Forever,” and there’s no way to change that. By comparison, when you tap-hold on a user or hashtag in your timeline, you get the option to mute for a day, week, month, or forever.
Tweetbot for iPad landed today, and it has a few perks over the iPhone version. Among them is a Settings > Navigation panel that lets you shut off sections you don’t want to see.
If you hold the Favorite button in Tweetbot, you can assign it a Tweet of the Day award at Favstar, a great service for finding and sharing the best of Twitter, as well as checking who favorites and RTs your tweets.
Tweetbot from Tapbots might be the first app to make it easier to share your most recent photos on Twitter.
In addition to the typical “take a new photo or video” and “choose from existing media” options that most apps have, Tweetbot 1.8 now sports a “use last photo taken” feature. Instead of all the tedious taps required to dig into your Camera Roll, this new option lets you add your most recent photo to a tweet with a single tap.
Tweetbot, the stylish Twitter client from Tapbots, allows you to assign a Tweet of the Day award on Favstar, a service that crowd-sources the most favored and retweeted tweets. Just tap a tweet to display the details bar, or double-tap it to view its details page, then tap-hold on the Favorite button to toggle the TotD option.
